Solitaire City- Addictive Collection of Solitaire Games
Review by on
I once had this roommate who would come back from work late at night, boot up his computer, then start playing Solitaire. That always struck me as a bit odd. I mean he had a powerful enough computer to play any computer game. But instead of playing one of the many computer games available out there, he would play the default game of Solitaire that comes built into the Windows operating system.

After seeing him play night after night, I thought I would give it a try. And wouldn’t you know it, pretty soon I was hooked. Then we would both play Solitaire hours on end. Sorry about that…just took a short break to play a quick game.

Getting back to the topic at hand, if you are a Solitaire fan you don’t have to stick with the Solitaire game the Windows operating system has to offer. You can go with a 3rd party application that is quite a lot better. Such an application is the Digital Smoke-developed Solitaire City. This application is an addictive collection of Solitaire games offered for your enjoyment.

Just like in a traditional game of Solitaire, you have to race against the clock to get the best score. The faster you complete a game, the more points you will get. And when you complete a game, Solitaire City celebrates by displaying fireworks.

The fun part is that you don’t get to compete against the clock alone – you get to compete with other Solitaire City player. You see, Solitaire City automatically downloads the best scores of players from all around the world for real-time on-line tournaments.

Should you decided to get Solitaire City, there are some technical details you need to look at:
Download – the download weighs in at some 24MB.
Installation – at the time of writing this, Solitaire City provides support for Windows 2000, XP, Vista and Windows 7.
Limitations – you can play the games Solitaire City has to offer free of charge for a trial period of 5 hours.

If you were looking for a stunningly beautiful, extensive collection of Solitaire games that will keep you playing for hours on end, then you need to take a look at Solitaire City.

Pros
  • Addictive collection of Solitaire games
  • Nice graphics
  • Online tournaments
  • There’s also a Mac, an iPhone/iPod touch/iPad, Palm, and Pocket PC version

Cons
  • Free to try (5-hour trial)
